For the AABS stream contributions are welcome from all academic perspectives of Buddhist studies including textual studies, history, sociology, religious studies, cultural studies, psychology, music, performance and art history. Speakers will have 30 minutes, approx. 20 minutes to deliver their paper with the remainder for questions and discussion. Postgraduates are particularly welcome to submit papers for either conference stream. Calls for papers and proposals for panel discussions (3 papers) for both AABS and NZASR streams can be found at www.nzasr.ac.nz/conference/. The call for papers will close on 31 October 2011.The conference is to be hosted by the Department of Theology and Religion at the University of Otago. We would like to invite AABS members, and interested scholars generally, to present their latest research and enjoy the opportunity to exchange information and ideas with their colleagues. Please also encourage and, if possible, make arrangements for your postgraduate students to participate.
